Scandalous revelations: Scandalous connection between Yesimov and Turgumbayev shadow schemes of Kazakhstan

Let us remind you: that  Turgumbayev  was detained and he is charged with a crime committed under  Art. 362 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Excess of power and official authority, resulting in grave consequences,”  became known at the end of April this year, 2024, and a few days later, by the decision of the specialized investigative court of Astana, the once all-powerful lieutenant general of police was placed in custody. However, all this time in the socio-political space of Kazakhstan, no one tried to analyze the reasons why charges  were brought against Turgumbayev  only two years after the tragic “January events”, and numerous publications by the media, as well as representatives of the Kazakh blogosphere, either boiled down to reprint of official information published by  the General Prosecutor’s Office  of Kazakhstan, or were reduced to listing high-profile events that took place in Kazakhstan under  Turgumbayev , as the head  of the Ministry of Internal Affairs  of Kazakhstan, in addition to the tragic “January events” themselves, in which he was a direct or indirect participant, as in the case of mass ethnic unrest in 2020 in the Zhambyl region, which led to the emergence of  more than 12,000 Dungan refugees  as a result of a carefully planned operation by organized crime groups and local police. As a result, only a few Telegram channels recalled that  Turgumbayev,  who was detained and taken into custody , was considered not only a close associate and, in fact, a relative of the first president of Kazakhstan, but also the creature of  Nazarbayev’s cousin  ,  Akhmetzhan Yesimov , who is a prominent representative of the so-called “old Kazakhstan” who at one time held the post of former Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Akim of Almaty and Chairman of the Board  of JSC National Welfare Fund "Samruk-Kazyna" , and the Kazakh-language Internet portal  "kyn kz"  three days after the information about the detention  of Turgumbayev  published an unremarkable video recording at first glance , which depicts  Yesimov  performing, together with the famous Kazakh musical performer  Saken Maigaziev,  a song on the toy of another musical performer  Serikbol Sailaubek. Despite the fact that this video recording from the next toy, which was not marked by any scandals, is of no value and is not any separate meaningful news item, following the Kazakh-language Internet portal  “kyn kz”  it was also posted by the Russian-language publication  “press”. kz", however, without any additional explanatory comments, in connection with which it can be assumed that the only purpose pursued by the publication of this video was the need to publicly demonstrate the confidence of  Yesimov  and his entourage that his position in the socio-political space of Kazakhstan is irrelevant does not threaten, even despite the arrest  of Turgumbayev,  and he himself has not left or does not intend to leave the territory of Kazakhstan, unlike a number of other representatives of the political and business elite of the country who have chosen the UAE as their permanent place of residence. It is noteworthy that in essentially the same way in 2022, rumors that spread then that the former Speaker of the Mazhilis  Nurlan Nigmatulin , fearing arrest, left Kazakhstan were refuted. Then, especially for  the Telegram channel  “ABZHAN NEWS”, owned by journalist Makhambet Abzhan,   a video was recorded and posted in which  Abzhan  allegedly accidentally met the former Speaker of the Majilis and one of the richest people in the country in an ordinary cinema in an ordinary shopping center, without security and with his grandchildren, which at that time denied rumors about  Nigmatulin’s presence  in the UK. At the same time, the video recording was also duplicated on the website of the Russian-language publication  “press kz” , which is associated with  Abzhan’s partner , journalist  Daniyar Adilbekov , author of the anonymous Telegram channel  “Wild Horde” - Abzhan  is  currently  sentenced to 9 years in prison for extorting  50 million . tenge  from businessman  Rashit Mahat  under the threat of disseminating defamatory information, and  Adilbekov  is under investigation under  Art. 419 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Knowingly false denunciation.” In other words, representatives of the so-called “old Kazakhstan” use an almost identical approach in matters relating to interference in the socio-political space of Kazakhstan, when it comes to the need to directly or indirectly refute certain rumors spread regarding representatives of the political and business elite of Kazakhstan , and a video recording in which the cousin of the first President of Kazakhstan,  Nursultan Nazarbayev  ,  Akhmetzhan Yesimov  , participates in this and is clearly not concerned that the current Kazakh authorities may initiate criminal prosecution of him, this is a clear confirmation of this. However, representatives of the political and business elite of Kazakhstan still have certain concerns related to the work being carried out by the current Kazakh authorities to return to the country the assets and illegally withdrawn financial resources of “old Kazakhstan”. It is no coincidence that almost all of them do not give up attempts to legalize part of the assets they obviously acquired illegally in the most primitive way - through their closest relatives - brothers, sisters and children, trying to present the latter as successful and effective representatives of the business and commercial sector. So, for example, the day before, from the updated and expanded ranking of the richest representatives of the political and business elite of Kazakhstan, traditionally compiled and published at the suggestion of the media manager and media tycoon A rmanzhan Baitasov,  who owns the  Forbes Kazakhstan franchise , it became known that  Yesimov , who was and remains the most influential member of the so-called “Shaprashtin clan” in Almaty and the Almaty region and one of the closest and trusted persons in  Nazarbayev’s entourage , especially after the death of  Bolat Nazarbayev,  was able to legalize part of his own assets, through his former son-in-law -  Galymzhan Yessenov  and his daughter  Aizhan Yesim. As is known, as of 2023,  Galymzhan Yessenov  was actually bankrupt, however, in the current 2024, in the updated and expanded ranking of the richest representatives of the political and business elite of Kazakhstan,  Yessenov’s  fortune was estimated at  590 million dollars  and  Yessenov  thus shared fifteenth place in in the ranking of the richest representatives of the political and business elite of Kazakhstan, on a par with the daughter of the first President of Kazakhstan,  Nursultan Nazarbayev  ,  Dariga Nazarbayeva , whose fortune, at the suggestion of the media manager and media tycoon  Armanzhan Baitasov,  who owns the  Forbes Kazakhstan franchise,  was estimated at a similar amount of  590 million. dollars. Yessenov,  as it turned out, owns  99.74% of the shares  in  Jýsan First Heartland Securities JSC , through which he controls 7 9.63% of the shares of Jýsan Bank JSC , while another  20.11% of the bank  belongs to him directly. Also,  Yessenov ,  through  Jýsan Bank JSC,  has shares in  Kazakhtelecom JSC  and  Kcell JSC , and with him part of the shares  of Jýsan Bank JSC  and, accordingly, shares in the same  Kazakhtelecom JSC  and  Kcell JSC., also belong to  Aizhan Yesim  , the daughter of  Akhmetzhan Yesimov . However, a significant part of  Yesim’s  fortune was received by her as a result of the sale of a stake in  KazPhosphat LLP , the founder of which is the company Kazakhmys Resources BV registered in the Netherlands  , and the beneficiaries are the ex-chairman of the Mazhilis  Nurlan Nigmatulin,  as well as oligarchs  Vladimir Kim  and  Eduard Ogai  and, in fact, ,  Yesimov , the latter’s share was estimated at approximately  300 million dollars,  and, apparently, was partially transferred by him to his daughter,  Yesim , who in 2021 sold it through the British company  Kazphosphate Ltd.,  in which she was a shareholder along with  Yesenov.  And as a result,  Yesim , whose significant share of her fortune is cash, free funds received from the sale of her stake in  KazPhosphat LLP,  is in forty-fourth place in the ranking of the richest representatives of the political and business elite of Kazakhstan with a fortune of  $207 million. . At the same time, how exactly  Yesim  received a share in one of the largest enterprises in the country, while her father was never officially involved in business, but made a career in the public service, is not known for certain, but this is one of the many questions that a number of Kazakh media information, as well as representatives of the Kazakh blogosphere, could be asked to representatives of the so-called “old Kazakhstan”, or forwarded directly to Kazakh law enforcement agencies. Let us recall that the cousin of the first President of Kazakhstan,  Nursultan Nazarbayev  ,  Akhmetzhan Yesimov,  before Kazakhstan gained independence, was an ordinary Soviet party functionary and sports methodologist who lived and worked at the  Leninsky  state farm in the Almaty region, and only after gaining independence and being elected to his first Nazarbayev’s  presidential term  in December 1991 was able to dramatically change his occupation, overnight becoming a key representative of the political and business elite of Kazakhstan, at various times holding the post of Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, and Akim of Almaty, and Chairman of the Board of  JSC National Welfare Fund "Samruk-Kazyna" . It is noteworthy that it was during his formative years that  Yesimov  met the now detained and placed in custody  Erlan Turgumbayev . For example, it is believed that  Turgumbaev’s career , who was an ordinary criminal investigation officer, began precisely after  Yesimov  headed the Alma-Ata regional administration in 1992. Then, almost immediately, he appointed Turgumbayev,  who had not previously held any leadership positions, as deputy head of the investigation department  of the Almaty Municipal Internal  Affairs Directorate, and subsequently, becoming the acting Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and head of the presidential administration, contributed to Turgumbayev’s  rapid career growth  by transferring him to the post of chairman of the investigative committee  of the Ministry of Internal Affairs  of Kazakhstan and deputy head of  the Ministry of Internal Affairs  of Kazakhstan, which is why those around  Turgumbayev  at one time even believed that it was possible to influence him in any way only through  Yesimov directly , and moreover, it was argued that  Turgumbayev  himself was not always could communicate directly with  Nazarbayev,  and even when he was already the head  of the Ministry of Internal Affairs  of Kazakhstan, he transmitted some of the information to  Nazarbayev  through  Yesimov. The latter allegations are extremely important in the further investigation of the criminal case initiated against  Turgumbayev , who, as is known, through his direct subordinate, already convicted general and former head of the police department of the Almaty region  Serik Kudebaev,  gave direct orders to “surrender weapons and go home” to employees Almaty during the tragic “January events”, thus not interfering with the armed protesters and criminal group operating on the territory of Almaty during the days of the tragic “January events” under the leadership of  Arman Dzhumageldiev , better known as  “Wild Arman” , as well as representatives of the so-called Salafi gang underground associated with  Nazarbayev’s nephew  ,  Kairat Satybaldy. Moreover, suspicions have already been expressed that in the case of mass unrest on ethnic grounds in 2020 in the Zhambyl region, which led to the emergence of  more than 12,000 Dungan refugees  as a result of a carefully planned operation of organized criminal groups and local police,  Turgumbayev  did not show any initiative and, moreover, directly and consciously provoked the pogrom itself through the actions of law enforcement officers in the interests and on the direct instructions of  Yesimov. Then thousands of people, citizens of Kazakhstan, were forced to flee the country to neighboring Kyrgyzstan, which almost led to a big international scandal, and subsequently these riots were called almost a “rehearsal” of the tragic “January events”, when police officers,  KNB officers  and the gang underground honed their joint actions to destabilize the socio-political situation in the country to create conditions for a coup d’etat, which means that during the tragic “January events”  Turgumbayev  could also act in the interests and on the direct orders of  Yesimov.
